brisbane heat / tvc

I directed this tvc through pictureDRIFT for digital agency Pusher. The tvc launched the Brisbane Heat Cricket team and the new Big Bash League – a city based Twenty20 Cricket format designed to bring new energy into the sport and appeal to a wider audience. The aim of the campaign was to create awareness of not only a new team but also a new format and league, and communicate it in a more youthful energetic fashion. Pusher commissioned pictureDRIFT to design a 3-story high mural wrapping around a warehouse next to the home of the team, The Gabba. The mural was painted by street artists Mr Perso and Sirum1 and formed the basis of the TV commercial showing the mural being painted up in a single day, and following sunset coming alive in an animated sequence.
